You can't walk around a mall or almost anywhere else without
bumping into a kid who is staring not ahead, but at his or
her cellular. Almost all parents give mobile phones to their
kids under the premise that it is important to have one just
in case of an emergency, but how many of the kids who are
wandering around aimlessly are really talking about a
critical issue? The phone providers love those kids because
it creates a market that is very profitable, but most kids
are neglecting personal contact and simply sending texts or
calling by cell phone. Is that the future of the youth of
America?
There is so much that these mobile phones can do now. They
have games built in for one, that kids can play with for
hours. So, if you want your child to have a distraction for
a while, it could be a good idea. There are game systems
though that kids can carry with them to make shopping trips
and doctor visits easier. It doesn't have to be a phone.
Sometimes having a mobile sort of a babysitter can be
helpful.
There are some studies that say that cell phones may cause
brain cancer. That has yet to be proven, but it certainly is
a cause of society becoming less aware and intelligent.
Letting a child have a cell phone that he or she refuse to
put down could be a risk that, as a parent, you might be
wise to avoid.
Kids are going to conceal their cell phones whether they are
allowed in school or not since most of the cell phones today
are tiny and impossible to detect, but if you walk around
any school today you can find kids chatting away on the
phone or sending texts to their friends who are only a few
feet away.
Sure, cell phones are important for kids to have in case of
emergencies, so parents need to make sure that that is the
only reason the kids are using them, at least as long as it
isn't in excess. Make sure you keep a close eye on how often
your kids are using their cell phones and how they are using
them.
There are ways to trace the phone calls your kids are making
and that is a very good option. You do not want to interfere
with their personal lives, but it is better to be safe than
sorry. You can trace their calls and find out things that
may be vital in the future.
